from Bangkok to Siem Reap

When you’re living in Thailand it’s very easy to travel in the nearest countries. So, today I’ll tell how we went to Cambodia to see Angkor Wat. There are few ways how to go there. The train goes twice in a day at 5.55 and 13.05. The cost of the ticket is 50 bath. The way will takes 5.5 hours.  The second one is by air. Bangkok Airways fly there few times in a day. Of course it will be very easy but we don’t choose easy ways and we decide to go by bus.

From Bangkok to Aranyaprathet

Here also there are two ways. Take the tranfer from Bangkok to Siem Reap in the travel agency or use the governmental. Read a lot of information decide to use the last one) So, buses to the border city Aranyaprathet goes from two stations: Ekkamai Bus Terminal ( also known as Eastern)  and Mo Chit Bus Terminal ( also known as Northern). It’s very easy to go from Ekkamai, it’s near the BTS station but you need to know that in the morning the buses leave at 6.15 and next 8.30. You can buy the tickets on counter 25. We came there at 6.20 ))) Decided to don’t wait till 8.30 and took a taxi to Mo Chit Bus Terminal. Buses from there goes every hour. There you will need to find counter 30 (it’s on a ground floor).  The price of the ticket is 212 bath.  The way will takes about 5 hours.  You will need to ask the driver to stop near the border because another way you will need to take tuk-tuk from the bus station.

From Aranyaprathet to Poi Pet.

This 300 meters is like a long way)) When you will be near the border you will hear a lot of invintations to the visa-center or visa-office. Don’t listen and ignore anyone, just go straight) First you need to pass the Thailand border which is after this building. 

After you will have a stamp in your passport that you leaved Thailand you will be met by the people in white shirts. Like they said they work for Cambodian government and help tourists to don’t be scamed. Don't be afraid and let they help you) They will show where to go and what to do. One of they helped us  in next 2 days. Like he said they work 1 day on the border( only for tips) and the same time looking for clients for next 3 days. They will also offer you free shuttle bus to the bus station where you can choose how to go to Siem Reap, by taxi or by bus.
